Vanilla Twilight
Written by Young, Adam
Vocal Owl city
The stars lean down to kiss you
And I lie awake and miss you
Pour me a heavy dose of atmosphere
'Cause I'll doze off safe and soundly
But I'll miss your arms around me
I'd send a postcard to you, dear
'Cause I wish you were here
I'll watch the night turn light-blue
But it's not the same without you
Because it takes two to whisper quietly
The silence isn't so bad
'Til I look at my hands and feel sad
'Cause the spaces between my fingers
Are right where yours fit perfectly
I'll find repose in new ways
Though I haven't slept in two days
'Cause cold nostalgia
Chills me to the bone
But drenched in vanilla twilight
I'll sit on the front porch all night
Waist-deep in thought because
When I think of you I don't feel so alone
I don't feel so alone, I don't feel so alone
As many times as I blink
I'll think of you tonight
I'll think of you tonight
When violet eyes get brighter
And heavy wings grow lighter
I'll taste the sky and feel alive again
And I'll forget the world that I knew
But I swear I won't forget you
Oh, if my voice could reach
Back through the past
I'd whisper in your ear
Oh darling, I wish you were here

Slumdog Millionaire-- Dreams on fire
It's the night before Hematology/Oncology midterm. In the past ten days, I took a final exam for III block and an unorganized quiz on eyes examination.
I really need a song that can sooth my anxiousness and calm myself down. I guess I am burn-out.
Well, things are not always bad. A friend asked me how is lif? After thinking seriously rather than saying fine, good, hanging in there, I said can't complain. After all, this is what I choose to do and this career is what I have longed for.
I have been receiving emails from big sis about her exciting trips around the world. She mentioned some places she visited in China in a recent email. It totally reminded me my middle school geography, one of my favorite class. Yikes, I would really love to walk a thousand miles than study ten thousand books...
Hum...maybe I should go back to mastering chemotherapy.

Translation by Suzi Kim
Turning the pages of old photographs
I whisper thanks to each and everyone
Deep in my heart you have come, come to live
Sure as the sun to see me through
Come rain or shine however the day may be
You shelter me with your smile
However far your memories may fade
Traces of you I hope to find
Then you appear and I drown in my own tears
I wish on a star, the first star of the night
You'll find me here every evening of the year
As twilight approaches I look to the sky
Searching for you with all of my heart
In grief and joy I long for you and your smile
Hoping you feel the way I do
If only you could fine me from where you are
I do believe somewhere in time
I do believe I will see you once again
Come rain or shine however the day may be
You shelter me with your smile
But as each memory of you fades away
I'm so alone longing for you
You're on my mind as I drown in my own tears
Missing you so I'm missing you so
You're on my mind as I drown in my own tears

"If you let them"
Words can hurt you, if you let them.
People say them and forget them.
(unquote)
I apologize for the way I quoted these two lines today. They are quoted from Carole King's song, Anyone At All. I felt that I completely distorted the context of this song by the way I quoted it.
I first came across this song when I watched the movie, You've Got Mail. The song gave the movie a wonderful atmosphere at the end. Ironically, I was pulling these two lines out of the context today in an attempt to suppress my negative emotions.
Maybe, I should sing the whole song. That will help.
